Born on the Wirral in 1960, I attended Wirral College of Art and went on to do a BA (Hons) in Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University, specialising in painting landscapes and interiors.
After leaving art college I rented an ‘ACME'(artist’s housing association) house in Archway Road in London.
I worked in the animation industry producing artwork for many pop videos and adverts, whilst learning about ceramics at Bolt Court Art Centre in Central London.
In 1988 I founded Reptile Tiles & Ceramics with my wife, Carlo Briscoe, making and hand-painting tiles.
We moved to Wales in 1993, and continue to make ceramic tiles for various projects at home and abroad.
Since 2012 I have returned to painting and am working on both landscapes and the figure.
The landscapes are all painted ‘plein air’. The figure studies are all drawn and painted from life.
I work in a variety of media, including oils, acrylics and watercolours; on canvas, board and paper.
